Introduction

Dear Readers, I'll start off my by introducing myself my name is Cassandra I decided 2start writing a blog because I wanted to share my experiences concerning my son Malik. I also wanted to document our journey just in case any1 else might be going through the same thing we went through with Malik.

Malik is a 14year old young man who happens to have a diagnosis of Autism. In 1996 we got our diagnosis back then Autism was not in style ! Celebrities were not appearing on Oprah, or writing books.

My wish is 2 appeal 2 anyone who feels hopeless and alone my ultimate goal is to have the blog

turn into all kinds of discussions concerning anything from new methods of dealing with children with Austim 2 - What we Mothers like 2 do 2 relax and everything in between.

I want this blog 2 make you laugh, think, and have fun. This blog will be open for any discussions but, my main focus will be about my pride and joy M A L I K !

    What's up cousins!!! I finally found the blog. I'm glad to hear that you're inspired to open up a care program in your area. I really think that would be a great thing, that a lot of people would be interested in. ...And I think this is a good time to get funding for a program as such.     where do i start.1st of all i wanna tell u how much u motivated me 2 aim high,challenge myself,n get better everyday.u were the bridge between adolescence n manhood,our bond guided my growth n decision makin which i applied 2 my everyday life.thx 4 the encouragement,it got me thru some tuff times.as far as brother leek goes,lol,he is a wile boy.i luv him 2 death,he is n unbelievable blessing.how u handled everything from day 1 is a testament 2 ur will n shows the kind of character that separates leaders from followers. u r a strong,powerful,intelligent sister,n not jus 2 me,im speakin n general.u r a proud mother as u should,2 my incredible nephew.so continue 2 inspire,because ur makin a difference.i luv u shuga n smack brother leek n the back of the neck 4 me. ur brother jr.

    You're so awesome!! From the 1st time I met
    Malik, I fell in love with his enthusiasm, his energy, his unselfishness and his brilliance on the computer. You and Shawn are so blessed to have him in your lives, along with the rest of us. He is amazing and he will do great things in life. Remember, as your mom said, to always keep God in the mix and most of all, 1st and you'll see, everything will be all right. You definitely have my support.

    when autism visited our family back in 1994,it really delivered a devastating blow to us.it opened our eyes to a whole other life.one that's so shockingly different from an average or normal way of living.malik was born dec.15, alittle bright eyed bundle of joy.we didn't see anything unusual in his behavior in the beginning, but after a time,cassandra his mother noticed he didn't react to sounds. he also had no muscle strength in his arms.of course they were concerned. so they questioned his doctors.not satisfied, they contacted a specialist n had test done. this is when they discoved he had autism. malik's parents were staggered,as was all of us . but we had to toughenup, because malik was the victim. so we've all pitched in and helped out where we could. our family is very supportive of everything concerning the betterment n happiness of malik.
